- In this study were compared the differences of external egg qualities egg weight, egg length, egg width, shell surface area, shape index and elongation between traditional measurement and same properties values of various studies, which were calculated with mathematical formulas, in 20 weeks old Japanese Quail eggs (Coturnix coturnix japonica). Values, that were measured traditionaly, were accepted as reference value and the accuracy rate for each formula was determined. By using the egg weight, egg length and egg width, that were determined by traditional methods, the shape index, elongation, shell surface area and shell weight were calculated by mathematical formulas The differences of studied properties between the measured values and the values calcuted by the mathematical formulas were statistically significant (P< 0.001). Using the mathematical formula determined the accuracy rate of reference measured rates of egg weight, egg length, egg width, shape index, elongation and egg shell weight properties values were found in near the average rate of 94.49; 97.15; 98.56; 96.83; 96.76; 82.88 % respectivly. High error rates were determined for shell weight (average of 17.12%) values measured by mathematical formulas, in comparison to values obtained with the reference value. Egg quality property values in this study were determined near by the mathematical formula counted values. Keywords : Mass, Elongation, Egg length and width, Shape index, Egg shell weight
