- In this research, 7 long fat-tail Karayaka and 7 fat-tail Gıcık male lambs were used. The lambs formed their own ration by self-selecting among grounded barley, wheat bran, expeller cotton seed meal. The experiment was continued for 42 days. The barley consumptions of both groups were found similar. Wheat bran and alfalfa straw consumption (except cotton seed meal) of Gicik lambs were found higher than Karayaka`s. The lambs of both groups could select diet according to their requirements. Feed conversion ratio in Karayaka and Gicik lambs was calculated 5.089 and 8.593, respectively. Selected rations according to requirements of Karayaka lambs were found economic. Keywords : Fattening lamb, voluntary food intake, economic analysis
