Fattening and Carcass Characteristics of Ile De France xAkkaraman and Lincoln x Akkaraman (F1) Sıngle-born Male Lambs FattenedAfter Weaning

- Fıve Ile de France x Akkaraman (IF X A) and 6 Lincoln x Akkaraman (L X A) (F1) single-born male lambs constltute animal material of the study. Aniınals were weaned at 2.5 month ofage and were fattened for 56 days after weaning.

Live weight of tha IF X A and L X A groups were found at the beginnlng of tha fattening period 20.5 and 27.9 kg (P<0.05), at the termination of the fattening 36.4 and 39.6 kg respectively. Daily live weight gains of the groups were found 283.6 and 209.0, concentrate consumptions per l kg live weight gain 4.050 and 5.310 kg respectively.

Carcass characteristics of IF x A and L X A groups were found as follows; Warm carcass weight 17.91 and 18.65 kg, cold carcass weiht 17.42 and 18.11 kg, dressing percentage (cold) 48.25 and 46.35 %, leg (pair) weight 5.78 and 5.83 kg, back and loin (two sides) weight 2.81 and 2.75 kg, fore arm (pair) weight 3.06 and 3.26 kg, front part (two sides) weight 5.09 and 5.37 kg, tail weight 0.47 and 0.53 kg, kidney and pelvic fat 140 and 230 g.

The results of this sutdy indicated that IF X A group was superior than L X A group for fattening performance, on the other hand, It was found that the both genotypes produce good quallty carcass. Keywords :
