Results obtained with application of progesterone in ewes intramusculary and ıntravaginally for estrus synchronisation during breeding season

- An investigation was made to study estrus synchronisation and shortening the lambing period in ewes during breeding season. Results obtained are as follows;

Hormone is placed in the ewes vagina using one of the special applicators supplied in this group. 45 ewes were under experiment. 44 ewes (% 97.7) showed estrus within 5 days and were inseminated. Lambing period ended within 9 days. Conception rate isi % 86.6

Hormone was applied intramusculary to 45 ewes in this group. Insemination of ewes were completed within 9 days. Also lambing period was ended within 7 day. Lambing results is % 90.3.

The insemination of 45 ewes in control group continued 17 days. Consequently, Lambing period was ended within 19 days. The conception rate is % 86.6. Keywords :
