Nine bulls from the each breed in 15 or 16 months old were fed for the 120 days of fattening period and performances estimated as mentioned below;

1. After the 120 days of fattening period average body weight gains of Simmental and Brown Swiss bulls were 162.6 and 160.2 kg respectively.

2. Average daily weight gains of Simmemntal and Brown Swiss bulls were 1.355 and 1.335 kg respectively. Daily weight gain was rapidly diminishing when the end of the fattening period was reached.

3. Average feed conversion rates of Simmental and Brown Swiss bulls were 6.32 and 6.42 respectively. Feed efficiency values were decreasing by the and of the fattening period.

4. Warm and cold dressing percentages were 59.8 and 59.5 for the Simmentals and 58.1 and 57.8 for the Brown Swiss respectively.

Depanding on the results obtained it is concluded that Simmentals are suitable for our country condition and they are more efficient than Brown Swisses in some respects. Keywords :
