Body weights and broiler parts yields of White Plymouth Rock. White Cornish and New Hampshire fowls of Lalahan State Farm

- White Cornish (BC), White Plymouth Rock (BPR) and New Hampshire (NH) fowls of Lalahan State Farm have compared in respect of some broiler traits. 6 weeks of age body weights of BC, BPR, and NH groups were 285.6, 258.7, 279.2 gm in the males and 253.6, 243.5, 280.1 gm in the females respectively. 8 weeks of body weights of the goups were 469.0, 410.8, 451.5 gm in the males and 413.8, 403.8, 440.4 gm in the females respectively.

8 weeks weight of carcass, breast muscle, thigs, drumsticks and wings in BC males were 287.8, 41.0, 48.4, 47.1, 44.6 and females were 262.2, 38.9, 43.4, 41.6, 40.0, in BPR males were 257.1, 37.3, 44.4, 42.9, 41.9 and females were 256.4, 37.4, 43.5, 42.0, 41.4 in NH males were 272.7, 38.3, 45.8, 44.2, 43.5 and females were 270.9, 38.7, 43.7, 41.7, 41.7, gm respectively.

Dressing percentages of BC, BPR, NH males were 62.9, 61.9, 60.5 and females were 62.9, 63.4, 62.0 respectively.

Correlation coefficients estimated between the carcass weight and breast muscle, thighs, drumsticks, wings were always high in the groups. Keywords :
