- We have done this research to determine relationship and inbreeding degres, of Southern Yellow Red cattle breed in Çukurova State Farm and to expose to wiew the blood lines has affected on this breed.

The data of our work is formed by the 98 calves born 1957 and 1958. We have used Sevall Wright`s formulas to calculate the coefficients of inbreeding and relationship.

Avarage inbreeding coefficient for southern yellow red cattle breed in Çukurova State Farm is 6.23 percent and average relationship coefficient is 19 percent.

Since 1945 the blood line of 46-36 Nazlı has had an important part with this inbreeding. One cow and three bulls from this family has affected to inbreeding coefficients with 88.70 percent.

Homozigoty has occured at one third ratio of relationship because of being avaided from continued close breeding.

It will be possible to assure a high level of homozigothy in a near future if close breeding is brought into aplication. Keywords :
