Factors affecting on wool production and wool quality

- Factors affecting on wool production and wool quality were reviewed with reference to the literature. The most important factors were found to be:

Before shearing: İnternal factors: Constitutional defects, nutritional defects, simple or contagiouse or parasites diseases and age. External factors: Pasturage, grazing plan. Dusty and mineral matters and climate. After shearing: Type of shearing and bagging. Transportation, storing and keeping of bags.

Since kempy and medullated fibers decrease the value of wool, they should be taken into consideretaion during the evaluatinon of wool. Keywords :
