The Solution Suggestions and Determination of Production and Marketing Problems of Beekeeping Enterprises In Elazıg Province

- In this study, the ways of production and marketing and also the problems in Elazıg beekeeping were determined and suggestions for beekeping in Elazıg were presented.

It was determined that the most beekeeping products in Elazıg were honey (99,5 %), beeswax (36,2 %), workerbee (34,4 %), pollen (10,1 %), queen bee ( 8,7 %), royal jelly (6,4 %), propolis (5 %), respectively. The honey types produced were determined as comb honey (93,6 %), extracted honey (80,3 %), old type hive honey (35,8 %), shallow honey (2,3 %) and pine honey (0,9 %), respectively.

The marketing methods of honey were determined as retail selling (84,9 %), individual consumption within family (27,1 %), local wholesaler (23,4 %), national wholesaler (9,2 %) and selling to cooperatives (6,0%), respectively. The problems occured during sales were determined as lower price than the market value (52,8 %), entry into market of foreign source products (47,7 %), suspicion about naturalness of products (43,9 %), no have cooperatives (43,5 %), no have price standards of products (41,6 %), respectively.

In this study, it thought that it will contribution to region`s people and to country`s economy with the problems are solved. The most factor to solution of problems can be explained as to be producers` scientific and to set their marketing system. Keywords : Beekeeping, Honey Production, Marketing
