The Studies on the fertility and spermatological characteristics of extended Stallion semen at stored 4°Ctemperature

- In this study, 4 stallions and 80 mares at the Hasırcı Breeding State Farm (Turkey) were used.

After the principal spermatological characteristics of ejaculates were determined, the ejaculates were diluted in two different extender and were stored at a temperature of 4 °C for 72 Hours.

The mares were inseminated twice just before and after ovulation.

As a result, 40 mares were inseminated with semen diluted in Milk - Glucose extender and 40 mares were inseminated with semen diluted in lactose extender. Conception ratio was 72.22 %, 77.50 % respectively, and the totai conaption ratio was 78.80 %. Keywords :
