Slaughter and Carcass Characteristics of Angora Goat

- In this researh 120 yearling Angora billy goats were fattened after the first shearing lor 100 days in Yerköy Animal Research Institute. Nine of the billies were slaughtered to determine slaughtering and carcass dıaracteristics. The slaughtered animals were selected to represent the flock's average weights.

The respective wales of 31.2±0.38 kg for slaughter weight, 46. 16±0.410 for dressing percentage, 29.54±0.380 for leg and 23.27±0.480 for back and loin together were found.

The average lengths of carcass and leg and the depth of chest were 59.11±0.630 cm, 21.78±0.390 cm. 23.27±0.480 cm respectively. Keywords :
