Application of A.I. in Cattle With Estrus Synchronization

One group consisted of twentv ywo indigeneous breed, aged between 1,5 to 6 years old, reared in Elmadag. The other group consisted of twenty one cows (Holstein breed in Lalahan Animal Research Institute) with prolonged post-partum period, aged between 3 to 6 years old.

Each animal in the firs group treated with an I.M. injection of 25 mg Dinoprost tromethamine and each of the animals in the second group were injected with 500 mcg cloprostenol sodium.

All injections were applied 11 days apart. Following second injections, after 72 hrs, aii animals were artifically inseminated regardless of the signs of östrus.

Pregnanyc was confirmed on 55 days following insemination by rectal palpation.

Pregnany rates of the first and second group were obtained as 54.54 %, 7.14 %, respectively. Keywords :
