Using linear programing in rational and economical animal nutrition

- In this paper, usage of linear programing in preparation of the most approgriate and most economical ration in animal nutrition has been shown with simple examples. In the first examples, the digestible protein and starch unit that must be present in one kg ration of sheep`s nutrition, the kinds of the chemical composition and the cots of the (feed) diet present in the storoge have been given. The solution to problem has given the cheapest diet mixture that will provide the protein and starch requirement.

In the second example, the digestible protein and starch unit that must be present in one kg ration of bull`s nutrition; the kinds, the chemical composition and the costo of the diet present in the storage have been given. The solution to the problem has given the most economical diet mixture that will provide, the protein and starch requirement, and also will provide various restrictions that is given in three alternatives.

In the third example, the M. energy content of the diet that will be used in the nutrition of 0 – 7 weeks old chicks, the amount of protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, cellulose as percentage, the kinds, the chemical composition and the cost of the diets in the storage have been given. The most economical diet mixture that will provide these requirements, and also the other restrictions related to the diets has been faund. Keywords :
