- We have carried out this study to find out wool follicle numbers per square millimeter of skin ñ (S/P) and ñ(P: P + S) ratio averages, fibre diameters in microns and đ (P/S) ratio averages of induvidual Angora goat does (ewes) which were bred at Lalahan Animal Breeding and Research Station.

All the does (ewes) were in three years old. The goats were taken at random from the flock.

Mean number of skin follicles per square millimeter of skin, n (S/P) and n (P: P+S) ratio avareges, minimum and maximum follicle numbers per square milimetre of skin and mean, maximum, minimum fibre diameters in microns and d(P/S) ratio averages in 15 Angora goat ewes were as follow.

As we mentioned above there is a little variation between primary, secondary and total fibre diameters in 15 Angora goat does (ewes). This proves us there is a high fibre diamater uniformity in individual Angora ewes and as a whole in their mohair fleeces. On the other hand d (P/S) ratio average of 15 Angora ewes was very little. This situation express us a high uniformity in fibre diameters as well.

As a result if, we use the sires which have low values of d (P/S) ratios we may have the progenies good in fibre diameter uniformity. So that individuals of the flock become much better. Keywords :
