Fertility Results obtained with diluted and stored ram semen

- Fertility results of diluted and stored ram semen was controlled by this study in November, 1962. 96, ewes and 2 rams used as a material. Ewes divided in to three main groups. 73, of them showed estrus sings and inseminated during the study. Storage period of diluted semen changed between the 4 and 6. hours. Results of the study are as follows;

Sodium citrate glucose egg yolk was used as a semen diluter in this group and had conception rate % 73.9. After second insemination of repeat ewes, conception rate was % 91.3.

Pasteurised skim milk used as a semen diluter in this group. Conception rates were % 40.7 and % 59.2 after first and second insemination.

Ewes were inseminated with fresh ram semen in this group. Conception rates, after first and second insemination were % 60.8 and % 82.6 respectively. Keywords :
