Studies on Angora Goats Mohair Characters body measurements their caring and feeding in Afyon, Beypazarı, Bolu, Çankırı, Çorum, Eskişehir, Kastamonu, Yozgat Provinces of Turkey

- Provinces of Afyon, Beypazarı, Bolu, Çankırı, Çorum, Eskişehir, Kastamonu and Yozgat have the 63.12 percent of Angora goat population in Turkey. These provinces produce 72.44 percent of anual mohair production of the country.

Our materials were two hundred female Angora goats each province, where the goats were dense. When body measurements had been taken at the moment, their mohair densities and greases had been fixed visual by us. From each province fifty heads of goats mohair samples were collected for fibre measurements at our Institute and after words their measurements carried out at our Institute as well.

The fifures which were obtained by us as statistically. The results of our works had shown and references summary had been compared with the recorded studies then the results were obtained as follows.

Body measurements of our Angora goats slightly smaller than the references summary records. We found out that Ankara provinces (Beypazarı) except, the other provinces goats had taken the blood of hairy goats.

The staple length of the provinces mohairs were shorter than references summary records. The fibre thicknesses of the provinces mohairs were the higher than the references summary records.

Beypazarı provinces mohairs were the greasiest in Kastamonu provinces mohair grease were very low. Keywords :
