1 Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Zootekni Anabilim Dalı, Burdur - MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short, 17-25 nucleotide long, non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression during post-transcriptional level by affecting the translation of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) in multicellular organisms. miRNAs are inhibiting or degrading gene expression by binding to target mRNA which is complement of own nucleotide sequence. Thus, they regulate to gene expression. miRNAs play important roles in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. miRNAs; It has been reported that they have important regulatory roles in the control of cellular and molecular activity related genes such as angiogenesis, inflammatory response and hypoxia, including the formation and maintenance of pregnancy in recent years. It has been shown that the majority of the miRNAs associated with pregnancy, expressed in reproductive tissue. Revealing the effects of the biogenesis of miRNAs molecularly during pregnancy has an important potential according to clarifying to mechanism of pregnancy. Therefore, it has been summarized that information about the contribution of miRNAs and miRNAs that played active roles during pregnancy, to this physiological process in this review.
