- This study was conducted to investigation of the some wool traits of Angora rabbits originated from Germany that raised in a special farm in Selcuklu province, Konya City. In accordance with this purpose, data collected from 95 Angora rabbits in different sex and age. Result showed that; live weight after shearing (LWAS), greasy fleece weight (GFW), yield (Y), fiber diameter (FD), natural fiber length (NFL), real fiber length (RFL), number of crimps over a length of 1 cm (NC) and kempy fiber ratio (KFR) of Angora rabbits were 3.39 ± 0.072 kg, 152.26 ± 1.365 g, 87.54 ± 0.80%, 16.31 ± 0.21 μ, 5.66 ± 0.14 cm, 6.41 ± 0.16 cm, 2.75 ± 0.09 and 5.81 ± 0.30% respectively. Shearing period had a significant effect on GFW (p<0.05), fiber diameter (p<0.05) and KFR (p<0.05). Effect of sex on fiber diameter (p<0.01), yield (p<0.05), NFL (p<0.05) and number of crimps (p<0.01) were significant. Year and birth type had no significant effects on all traits. As a result, it was concluded that the Germany originated Ankara rabbits had a sufficient level in terms of LWAS, GFW and quality traits of wool samples, and that the province of Konya was suitable for Ankara rabbit breeding.
