Examinations with regard to fertility and infectious disease in selecting of males for breeding

1 A Ü. Veteriner Fakültesi Dölerme ve Sun'i Tohumlama Anabilim Dalı - The artificial insemination practices have been successfuly continued for a long time in Turkey. To the extent that the artificial insemination fields have been tried to be expanded recently. The success of artificial insemination in dogs depends on selection of the males for breeding.

The males which have favourable hereditary characteristics should be selected and treated for breeding and males should be healty. n addition, semen should be collected from dogs in hygienic condittons and it should be frozen after examining with regard to spermatological characteristics. Keywords :
