Carcass Characteristics and Fattening Performance of Young Angora Male Goats

- The study was carried out at Lalahan Livestock Research Institute. A total of 49 yearling Angora male goats were used. Fattening period was 90 days. The average live weights at the begining and the end were 17.0 and 24.4 kg, respectively. The average daily values of weight gain, concentrate consumption and roughage consumption were found as 82 g, 815 g and 612 g, respectively.

Some body and carcass measurements were studied and the results were tabulated.

Dressing percentage was 34.22 % and the percentages of meat fat and bone in the carcass were found to be 62.30, 8.10 and 29.60 respectively. Keywords :
