The influences of sex and carcass weight on abdominal fat in broilers

- The study was carried out using 106 female and 87 male broiler chicks.

The mean values for carcass weight, weight of abdominal fat and percent of abdominal fat were 1208.50 g, 20.89 g, 1.72 % in females and 1394.34 g, 19.10 g, 1.34 % in males respectively. The differences were statistically significant between males and females for the carcass weight groups from 1150 to 1350 g.

The correlation coefficients between carcass weiht and weight of abdominal fat were 0.355 in female and 0.562 in male broilers. Keywords :
