A comparison of milk yield of cows before weaning with different amounts of milk

- The aim of this study was to compare the milk yield of Karacabey Brown Cows which were fed different amounts of milk during calfhood period. This experiment consited of 29 animals. These animals were fed 100 (n=8), 175 (n=7), 250 (n=5) and 650 (n=9) kg of milk before weaning. From weaning to the end of the first lactation period, all animals were fed and managed under the same conditions.

The mean milk yield, on the basis of 2 x 305 – ME, was 3363.0, 3356.7, 3097.6 and 3129.5 kg. respectively for the cows were fed 100, 175, 250 and 650 kg milk during calf hood period. The differences were not significant. Keywords :
