- In this article the follicle Researches which had been carried out by some workers had mentioned. I also have given information about their recent findings. Follicle works actually started in nineteen century, singce then great development had been recorded. I collected some very welknown peoples methods techniques and the results which had been established and made by them.

The workers especially had emphasized the follicle populations their groups and the total follicles per unit area of the skin. They declared the primary and their relations to each other. They found out the individuals fibre diameters by primary and secondary fibres.

Moreover the authors whom I mentioned here had given an information on fibre density which could be carried out by this way they also told that the structure of the skin could be exam only by this method.

Some of the workers said that it is possible to find out the fleece characters (fibre density, follicle groups, quality, uniformity, medullated and nonmedullated fibres) by the skin specimens methods.

Adding to this especialy very important point is for cross breeding of the different breeds of sheep. Forinstance Merino breed has fine fibres which means they have more secondary fibres than any other breed of sheep. So that Merino breed of sheep should be taken to the field, crosses should be made by Merino for increasing fibre density (secondary fibre) of the carpet types of sheep. This method had given a light to the breeders eyes even in pure breeding of the Merino for increasing their wool production. Keywords :
