- The administration of cloprostenol by intravulvosubmucous (i.v.s.m) injection at 1/4 of the dose usually given by intramuscular injection was tested in dairy heifers for luteolysis and estrus induction. Two injections of cloprostenol were administrated 11 days apart to the heifers. The first intramuscular injection of cloprostenol were applied in heifers at the usual dose of 500 mcg. On 11 th day after the first cloprostenol injection, heifers were examined for palpable corpus luteum by rectal palpation. All heifers diagnosed with palpable corpus luteum were treated with intravulvosubmucous injection of 125 mcg. cloprostenol into the labia ipsilateral to the corpus luteum bearing ovary. Observation for signs of estrus and probin2 with ''Estron'' were done daily for 4 days following the treatment. The percentage of heifers in estrus 48-72 hours following the treatment was 100 %, At the 71 % of animals, the minimal resistance values was also recorded at the same time with behavioural estrus. A total of 17 heifers were artificially inseminated and 29.41 % conceived.

We concluded that intravulvosubmucous iniections of cloprostenol at the dosage of 125 mcg causes luteolysis, induces estrus and establishes fertility. Keywords :
