- This research was conducted to detennine the effect of egg weight on chick weight and survival rate in Bronze turkeys.

Totally 2056 hatching eggs were used as 4 different groups according to egg weight.

Chick weight were found as 41.97 ± 0.51 g, 47.96 ± 0.28 g, 50.82 ± 0.24 g and 58.54 ± 0.46 g for the groups as < 69.5 g, 69.5 -79.4 g, 79.5 -89.4 g and > 89.4 g egg weight, respectively. Overall mean was 49.84 ± 0.19 g. Egg weight had significant effects (P< 0.05) on chick weight.

Survival rate were found as 0.95 ± 0.01, 0.94 ± 0.01, 0.93 ± 0.01, 0.92 ± 0.01, 0.89 ± 0.02, 0.87 ± 0.02, 0.86 ± 0.02, 0.86 ± 0.02 for 1., 2., 3., 15., 21., 28., 42. and 56. days of age, respectively .

Effect of egg weight on survival rate 3., 15., 21., 28., 42. and 56. day was significant (P< 0.05) or highly significant (P< 0.01), but was no -significant (P> 0.05) on the survival rate up to 1. and 2. day. Keywords : Bronze Turkey, Egg Weight, Chick Weight, Survival Rate
