- The purposes of this research were to investigate the fattening performance of Damascus kids under antioxidant (Vit E) effect in intensive and semi-intensive conditions. Data were collected from 48 male Damascus kids, born single, approximate live weight of 15 kg, in Hatay/ Turkey. In this study, four groups were composed. Group I had intensive conditions, Group II had also intensive conditions plus 450 mg / kg of vitamin E in the concentrate feed. Group III had semi-intensive conditions, and Group IV had also semi-intensive conditions plus 450 mg/kg of Vit E in the concentrate feed. Crude protein value of feed used was 16 %, the metabolic energy was 2700 kcal / kg. When kids reach at 30 kg live weights, the experiments were ended. The fattening performance data for each group (I, II, III and IV) were 101.64±5.45, 105.09±5.74, 102.89±5.60 and 88.41±6.92 days (p>0.05) for fattening period; 144.00±8.60, 140.80±8.80, 145.20±7.30 and 160.80±18.10 g (p>0.05) for daily weight gain; 6.083, 6.250, 4.944 and 4.452 kg concentrate feed intake / kg body weight gain, respectively. It was detected that Damascus kids had similar fattening performance between different feeding systems under Vit E effect. Keywords : Goat, Damascus, Fattening performance, Antioxidant, Vit E
